Active Nautical Depth
Again and again, silt and sludge block our harbours and rivers. To ensure navigability, dredges are used to extract enormous quantities of silt and sand. The way we handle Sediment Conditioning (an Active Nautical Depth method) takes a different approach.
We are committed to liquefying the obstructive silt on site using completely natural methods, ultimately using a simple stirring method. The silt remains where it has been deposited but is no longer an obstacle to shipping. Only in rare cases, namely when the mud is mixed with more than 10 per cent sand, do we separate the two substances from each other.
But in a way that is gentle and environmentally friendly. Moreover, in a very cost effective manner. Our method for Sediment Conditioning is cost effective and has a very positive effect on the environment.
The pollutant and nutrient content of the silt and the oxygen depletion decrease significantly. At the same time, there is a much lower dike burden compared to conventional methods. The fact that our method complies completely with applicable law goes without saying.
Average savings potential
Reduction of the dumped waste in the oceans/seas (wt%)
No silt removal
No additional cost for transportation to deposit sites or landfills
Entry of additional silt is prevented
Nutrient loading and oxygen depletion of the silt decreases
Pollutants self-cleaned from Conditioned mud
Conformity with international regulations
Bed fauna beyond managed zone undisturbed
Reducing water flow velocity also reduces sediment erosion
100% compliant with the EC Water Framework Directive
No dredging or disposal permit required
